The following East Hills Recreation classes/programs may fill quickly so the payment of all class fees is your only guarantee of registration. Deadline for registration deadline is one week before the start of the program. Sessions without adequate pre-paid enrollments will be cancelled. All programs are held at East Hills Recreation unless otherwise noted within the program description. All participants must have a completed and signed waiver form on file to participate. Resident discounts apply to those residing in Richland Township or Geistown Borough.

YOGA FOR EVERYONE

Put joints through a full range of motion, increasing flexibility, strength, and stamina. Learn breathing and relaxation techniques that help reduce stress and promote health, both physically and mentally. Done correctly, yoga can bring improvements to a wide array of physical and stress related problems, including back, respiratory, cardiac, headaches, diabetes, anxiety, and much more. The instructor has multiple certifications and experience teaching diverse populations for almost 30 years. Open to most levels of physical abilities, the only requirement is to be able to get down and up from the floor with ease. Bring 2 blankets. 6 week session.

Session 2: Wednesdays November 5 - December 3 (no class November 26)

ADULT CPR
Instructor: Robert J. Galasso, Certified American Heart Association
Date/Time: Saturday November 8 or December 6 · 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

This course is designed for people with little or no medical background. Participants are instructed in the recognition of signs of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), heart attack, stroke, and foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). Participants will also learn how to perform the Heimlich maneuver, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); and defibrillation with an automated external defibrillator (AED). Upon successful completion of the course participants will receive a valid AHA CPR card good for two years.

KARATE (Ages 13 and over)

Students will be taught the classical martial art of Tang Soo Do. Instruction will include basic techniques, forms, fighting, and self defense. Classes work on improving your physical and mental strength. Student's criteria--spirit, dedication, loyalty, willingness to learn, and having an open mind. Gain confidence, discipline, and self-esteem while enjoying a good workout, traditional training, and family atmosphere. Multiple Family Member Discount Available. KICKIN' AND CROSS TRAINING (Ages 16 and over)

You don't have to be a karate student to enjoy the benefits of a karate based cross training workout. This once weekly, high impact workout will be using basic karate moves, plyometrics, bag work, and much more. All classes set to music. Join TEAM MMA and EHR for a workout you soon won't forget!

TABLE TENNIS

The East Hills Recreation Table Tennis Club is designed to provide an enjoyable and challenging playing experience for all skill levels. Varying skill levels are put into groups to keep the games as exciting as possible. League play takes place on six professional Stiga Prestige tables. 3 Star balls are provided by the club and tournament legal paddles are available at no extra charge. Thanks to donations made to the table tennis club, all membership costs this year will be waved expect for a $2 per night fee.

COED VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

Location: East Hills Recreation Gymnasium
Date/Time: Wednesdays Beginning September 10 · Games begin at 6:00pm

Registrations for this recreational league are taken on a team basis, with captains paying a $30 team registration fee to secure their place in the league. Upon registration captains must indicate their team name and will receive rosters to be completed and returned prior to the beginning of the season. All players must be at least 21 years of age. Captains will receive schedules and rules prior to the first evening of play. Captains are also responsible for notifying their teammates of the schedule for the first night (additional copies of the schedule will be distributed on the first evening of play). 12 Team Limit.

Fee: $300 per team with an additional $10 for every non-resident

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION FIRST AID COURSE

Instructor: Robert J. Galasso, Certified American Heart Association
Date/Time: Sunday November 2 · 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

This course will instruct participants in basic first aid procedures needed to sustain life and prevent further injury until defined medical attention can be obtained. Topics include how to treat bleeding, shock, fractures, poisoning, CPR, seizures, burns, heat-related emergencies, cold-related emergencies, recreational injuries and environmental injuries. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a valid AHA Basic First Aid card good for two years.
